Personally, I come from a family with blood sugar issues, and I know that “there but by the grace of God go I!” It’s very easy for me to hop on the sugar wagon, so I know lots of ways to hop OFF the sugar wagon. My cravings tend to last for less than a day, because I correct them. Wondering if you’re being kidnapped on the Sugar Wagon? If you feel any of the following – and since statistically most people ARE on the Sugar Wagon and just don’t know it – you might have blood sugar issues:

Okay, okay, okay, but that’s just sugar right? I’m ok with HFCS, surely? First place to look: fructose is what’s going to rock your liver the hardest. There is a disease called fatty liver disease, that is differentiated into alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The only difference between the two is whether it was caused by alcohol or orange juice. So: now you know how hard sugar is on the body. Let’s take a look at some of the other sweeteners, and see what they’re made of.

 

Right. So HFCS is in ALMOST EVERYTHING! It’s in sodas especially, but it’s in all sorts of condiments and foods. It’s crazy! This is why to check your labels. And it goes by many names.

When someone eats a piece of fruit, they consume naturally-derived fructose, along with fibre, enzymes, minerals and vitamins. Conversely, when someone consumes the highly-refined fructose in HFCS, they are ingesting very high concentrations of it with the total absence of the healthful components that come with eating fruit.

Because the name has such a bad rep, many food manufacturers utilize these names instead so that people don’t question and purchase the product:

1. Maize syrup 2. Glucose syrup 3. Glucose-fructose syrup 4. Tapioca syrup 5. Fruit fructose 6. Crystalline fructose 7. HFCS (the same name, just the shortened version) 8. Isoglucose 9. Corn syrup 10. Dahlia syrup

WOW!!!! Fructose-wise agave is one of the WORST sweeteners you can use! I was bummed when I discovered this, because it’s DELICIOUS and it was shelved on the LOW-GLYCEMIC part of the health food store! As may be – but it is NOT liver friendly! So agave is off the list!

We’re a titch better on the fructose here. Honey is moistening, so it is sometimes used medicinally to treat dryness, like a dry cough. However, we can still see that’s it’s a tremendous amount of sugar and unless you’re an elite cardio endurance athlete, there’s probably not much cause for honey in your diet. Yes, it can also contribute to early dementia. It might be helpful to know that a bee produces about 1 tablespoon of honey in its whole life – so if you adjust your serving size to take that into account, you might be able to hop off the Sugar Wagon faster.

And what about plain old table sugar?

We’re back to the high fructose here.

I am super excited to tell you about the 28-day Purification Program, which involves a very specific approach to detoxification and drainage for you to be able to feel good. Maybe you overindulged over the holidays and maybe you’ve been trying to lose weight and you just can’t and you’re just maybe feeling brain-fogged or there are really certain pounds that you’re unable to lose and you’re not feeling yourself.

Here we also do very specific supplements that help with the detoxification process which I will tell you in a bit and also you get a manual so that you are able to carry this maybe not just throughout the 28 days but also as needed. Examples would be holidays or maybe weddings where we know we overindulge in alcohol and unhealthy foods.

Then sometimes we need a reset. So you can think about this 28-day purification program as a reset past holidays or also a reset post-vacation because our liver sometimes really gets a hit with toxins.

But so you understand detoxification. It actually works in three phases. Phase one is where a lot of the toxins that come from the environment need actually nutrients to be driven to the next phase, which is phase two.

So if you don’t have the nutrients that are necessary to make the conversion of toxins into byproducts that can be actually excreted by the organs, it’s going to become very difficult for you to feel well, lose weight and be clear in the head.

So sometimes the toxins that are coming from the environment, these are called exotoxins, become endotoxins. So that means that these toxins make some of our biochemistry change and that’s a problem. So what we do here is that we teach you through phase one, phase two and phase three of detoxification, which again phase one involves having the right nutrients to derive detoxification so that you can actually excrete the toxins that your body needs.

Phase two is really getting into very specific workers and getting you the workers to drive to the next phase, which is phase three, which is where the bile and the kidneys and the urine actually take care of getting rid of the toxins so that they can be excreted by the body.

So throughout the 28-day Purification Program, what we do is again walk your body throughout these three phases of detoxification program and we make you aware, I make you aware of what are your toxins, right?

You know, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E. All these really help.
