If you’re reading this, you’ve probably bought itno the idea that one part of your body is connected to another – the basic tenant of holistic healing. We know this is true because if you get a cut or your leg like I did last week, and it gets a bit infected like mine did for a moment, you must carefully attend to it like I did so that the infection doesn’t spread throughout your body. That’s a great demonstration of the holistic aspect of the body. And it works in reverse, too: if your body is filled with inflammation then you’re going to have a hard time healing an individual part of it because it’s got an uphill battle. That’s the basis of holistic medicine, and it’s why you get good people show up if you search, “Holistic Doctor Near Me!”
It makes sense then to extrapolate that system outside of ourselves. If one member of a family is struggling, the whole family will struggle. We all experienced this during business: if the toilet paper industry is hit hard, we’re all hit hard! If the Ukraine is suffering, we are all suffering. If one town experiences an epidemic, we may all experience an epidemic.
And if one part of the ocean is being taken advantage of, eventually, we will all be taken advantage of.. The latest Avatar movie, Way of the Water, beautifully portrays how the Water Tribes are effected with the Forest Tribes are in danger. Even more so, Avatar emphasized how important each person’s contribution is, and what a difference we can each make.
