Hello, I’m Dr. Denise Baker. Welcome to Longevity Wellness Clinic. This is the first part of a series on Fillers, and it is the first part in our series on Aesthetic Medicine.

I’ve been an aesthetic physician for over 20 years with a background in allopathic medicine, cosmetic surgery, a background in functional, and integrative medicine. And I’m delighted to welcome you to our talk today.

The first topic is going to be on Fillers. What are they, what are fillers? Fillers, also known as dermal fillers. Dermal, referring to the skin are products that we actually insert under the skin to restore the appearance of normalcy. But what do we use them for? We use them to really change how we present our calling card to the world. But before we talk about it, I want to back you up a little bit more and talk about the process of getting older.

Aging starts from our youth. And think about what you see with a face of a baby. They have that beautiful rounded forehead a nice curve here, a beautiful curve here. They naturally have lines here, called, parentheses, when they smile. But when they relax, you don’t see those lines so much.

In our middle ages, you actually see some lines starting to develop. You start to see some flattening of the beautiful curves that our babies and our children have, and you start seeing fat in areas that we don’t want it, and lost a fat in areas that we do. So how do we help you, help you present yourself to the world and put your best face forward?

So what we’ll talk about is fillers that will restore the volume that you have lost over time. I really want you to think about how you looked when you were more youthful. And certainly, when you come in for your consult, you won’t bring a picture of your high school graduation. But if that’s within the last 10 years, perhaps. But I want you to bring pictures of your favorite face.

And the purpose of that is for you to allow me to see what has changed on the surface of the skin, below the surface of the skin, and the change in the shape of your head. Why? Because I will help you identify what you see and what is in your option. What’s in our armamentarium to change you back to your beautiful you, to change you back to your handsome self.

What our goal is, is to look at the youthful face where you are now and where you’ll be going, and how we soften the changes that we develop over time. Changes that occur because of aging that because– that occur because of sun exposure, illness, disease, surgeries, trauma, events in our lives.

I actually am reminded of a time that I showed a picture of my passport to my younger niece. And she said, “Aunt, do you see what happened to you?” That was the age of innocence. So we’d like to look at photographs, and compare where we are now, and where we are going.

So fillers are a variety of characteristics that we’ll place under the skin to restore the normal volume. If the eyebrows droop, we can actually do a liquid brow lift. If you have loss of this beautiful arc that we see when we’re youthful, we can restore that. We can change how we look around the mouth. And so, most women notice the changes first in this area around the mouth, and we’d break it down into specifics. And men will notice in the mid face area.

So we pay attention to aesthetics, for what reason? Because we change how you interact with your environment. There are some studies that have been done that really talk about the science of aesthetics and the science of beauty.

And those studies show us, those who actually have a pleasing countenance, a pleasing appearance, do better, get less fines, will actually get faster raises, and get more money and more advancement, and actually lead healthier and happier lives. But the bottom line is a healthy life.

I want to invite you to listen to the next in our series. I want you to listen to how we apply fillers or dermal fillers in the basic application, the intermediate application, and the advanced application. So call me. I’m Dr. Denise Baker at Longevity Wellness, I welcome you and come in for a consult.
